SPOTS VS STRIPES

I never begin anything remotely festive until 1st of December, but I don't think my wardrobe received the memo. I've found two (slightly) seasonal shirts to get you in the mood for one of, if not the best time of the year. The first one I want to show you is this glittery number. Slightly creased I know, I can promise you, I did iron it before I headed out, but as you can probably tell, it didn't stay that way for long!

If you look past the shirts creases, you can see it's pretty sweet. This is the first vertically striped shirt I've ever owned and I kinda like it. The faded black lines alongside the silver glittery stripes look bloody awesome together and that metallic finish just adds to the overall effect.

This shirt has a serious Christmas sparkle to it, it's the perfect shirt to wear to the many special social occasions leading up to the big day. Stripes are quite a bold statement, yet I think this shirt looks super cool on, it's neither in your face or too subtle. I'd say it was just right.

I wore this shirt open with a black tee underneath, which is more casual than anything, paired with my black skinnies, boots and a hat, creating a cool, laid-back look. As you can imagine, this shirt can be dressed up as well as down, making for an awesome party shirt. It's up to you, whichever way you decide to style the shirt I'll promise you it will look killer on.

Getting onto this sheer gold polka dot shirt, which again is a first for me. Sheer is a material that I never thought I'd wear, as I'd always classed this thin fabric as 'a little too feminine' for me. However, after trying it on I actually really liked it. I love the way the material sits on the body and the effect the fabric gives you in an outfit. Sheer is sometimes a little too 'nippely' for guys to wear, but if you can get past flashing your nipples to the general public, it's a pretty crazy fabric to rock. Saying that, no-one saw mine, it was so bloody cold that day, they were none existent. Ha!

This shirt is a great fit, it just feels so good on your skin, I bought it in a small and it fits in all the right places. The shirt is described online as having bell sleeves (a sleeve that widens towards the wrist), but from what I can see, this is only very slight. I really like this shirt as I think it's very rock 'n' roll, you can just imagine a frontman of a band wearing it. Black and gold is a killer combination, which just looks effortlessly cool.

I shot both these shirts in Newcastle city centre, it has been a long time since I've shot anything in such a busy place. As you all know, my go-to places are more off the beaten track, a disused building, or a quiet back alley. After the initial embarrassment of shooting in the centre of town, I soon got back into the swing of things. As you can see, I even cracked a smile as a passerby gave me a little motivation exclaiming 'what a pose!' Cheers pal!

I do prefer this shirt to the striped number, they're both pretty cool, don't get me wrong, but a polka dot motif is something I just love wearing. This one is so different to the normal design too, the gold foil splodges give the shirt that added edge. Plus with the material being sheer, it's just so different to other shirts I have in the wardrobe.

I don't know if you can notice, but I love when the sleeve is folded up, you're able to spot other polka dots through the fold, as the material is so translucent. I love that detail you can only get with this super cool fabric! I really couldn't recommend this shirt more, especially as it's only £30! Steal!
