MADCAP BOATING BLAZER

Evening, what a sexy blazer I have for you all tonight! I've longed for a boating blazer for years now and finally I have one in my wardrobe, I have to say a big thanks to Madcap for sending me this killer piece! Right, let's get talking, as you can see I've also included some colour photographs too (makes a change) so you guys get to see how bloody amazing this vintage inspired jacket really is! You could say this is more of a Mod-inspired piece and you'll be right, however I've styled it in my own individual way and made it a little more rock n' roll.

The boating blazer has been around since the 1800's, yet only hit the mainstream fashion scene over here in the swinging sixties. The striped boating blazer was a staple item for any mod and still is to this day. However, I've noticed a lot of sporting and club blazers been reinterpreted by brands such as Saint Laurent in 2016, this is when I first became interested in the style. I love the colour palette of this particular jacket, especially the mixture of the two thicker blue stripes in contrast with a thinner yellow retro shade which separates them. Not to mention this blazer fits like a dream!

I originally asked for the blazer in a 38 however, Madcap recommended a 36 as they stated the style was slightly oversized. I decided on the smaller size and I can tell you now it fits me perfectly, it really is one of the best fitting blazers I've ever owned. The shoulders sit exactly where they should, plus the sleeve length feels like its been tailored especially for me! It's oversized curved collar line is the big statement of this jacket, with its killer double breasted button up front, it looks like its come straight out the sixties!

Madcap offer the same style in a more traditional three button style blazer, they also stock some equally killer suit jackets to suit any style for you vintage lovers. I can't wait to wear this out when the summer finally returns to the U.K, this vintage style regatta blazer really will look sweet on a warm summers evening, maybe with an added shirt underneath too!

SMOKING ISN'T COOL

Evening everyone, here's a shirt I thought you're all most certain to fall in love with! I think this shirt has definitely got the cool factor you're all craving (it sure does for me)! But not only that, it has one of the sexiest Cuban collar's around. This shirt has made its way to the top of my wardrobe must-haves for summer 19' - fingers crossed for some warm weather!

This is my favourite shirt from Phix's SS19 drop and the one I told you all about over on my YouTube channel a few weeks back. Yes, this is in fact the shirt I personally pushed to be a part of our new Summer collection, surprisingly to me, no-one else in the office liked it! I knew it would make a killer design as soon as I saw the fabric swatch, so much so, I put my job on the line to have this super-cool piece included in the new collection. I told my boss, Adam, he could fire me if this shirt doesn't sell. That's how confident I was of this shirts credentials & overall coolness.

I've worn it a handful of times already, but this time, I wanted to mix things up a little. In contrast to our campaign shots, I've chosen to style it over of a white tee. The 'ordinary' way to wear a shirt is simply fastened up, that's why I wanted to show how versatile this Cuban collar shirt is, and how it can be worn in a more relaxed style instead. I've decided to kick back and wear it open, in a more relaxed way because, well it is the beginning of summer after all...

The motif on the shirt is by far the best bit for me, it features a small detailed outline drawing of a hand holding a smoking cigarette. The thin white printed hand is very detailed, I think it just looks so cool against the dark black colour of the shirt. The design of the print is so subtle and understated, but incredibly cool.

The short sleeve shirt is made from Rayon and is super soft, as well as being lightweight. I went for the shirt in a small and the fit is great, it's a little longer to what I'd normally go for, but with being a Cuban style, sometimes this is expected. Paired with a pair of tan orange shades and of course, my range of silver accessories, I think this shirt is a great new addition to my summer wardrobe. Phix are planning to release a limited edition range of motif shirts this summer, I'm so excited to share the killer range of designs with you, so I'll make sure to keep you all in the loop.

If you love the shirt as much as me, check it out here - Phix Clothing if you want a closer look head over and watch this weeks YouTube video on my channel below.
