KICKING OFF 2021 WITH VINTAGE

Hey guys, welcome back, and let's all say hello to 2021! Tonight I'm kicking off the new year with a vintage jacket I found a few weeks back. The post isn't just about this particular jacket though, it also has inspired me with a lot of fresh ideas and given me much needed motivation to start the new year - pretty good going for just a jacket!

So what's my idea, well, I sort of touched on it this time last year, buying and selling a handful of vintage pieces via my Instagram. However, this year is a whole lot different, I desperately wanted to start the year with a project & since we find ourselves in fucking lockdown again I decided I'd kick the year off on my terms and give myself a personal project. It'll be something I can channel my creative energy and focus into, as we find ourselves in tier four. So with all those idea's in my head he's decided to join Depop. Hopefully this will make it a lot easier for you guys to check out my vintage gems - keep an eye on my brand new account for some epic vintage jackets coming your way very soon - click the link and follow me be the first to see them across on - Depop

I've put a lot of work into sourcing these latest pieces (which I'll show you over the next few weeks). The plan being - to shoot the items in a very individual & creative way, making a small, mini campaign with the collection of pieces I've curated. Vintage is so individual, and damn right cool, not to mention environmentally friendly, reusing clothing rather than buying brand new or throwing away, I've got my hands on everything from leather jackets to suede bikers and everything in-between and all pieces are 10/10, lets hope I'll be able to part with them. For me the best way to start 2021 is by styling, wearing and loving these pieces from the past, so buckle up for a killer year of vintage!

I've always loved vintage and it's always been a big part of my wardrobe, interchanging it with my looks always gives me an edge no one can replicate, giving my outfits a cool & individual look. This year I'm making even more of a conscious effort to buy, wear and sell a lot more killer vintage. I mean take this 70's suede, I couldn't just go out and buy something similar, it's not that easy. This jacket is so unique, cool and it fits me like a dream. Paired with a monotone polka dot shirt and my killer lace up styled jeans from Tigha, this outfit screams seventies rock and roll.

Its belt wrap and awesome western detailing make this jacket quite a statement, it looks sweet worn open and even pretty sexy tied and held shut with the metal buckle. The collar line and opening of this seventies beauty is to die for, over exaggerated and pointed, the cut and lines to this jacket are all perfect. I'll keep you guys in the loop of when I'll be selling some sexy vintage, but for now Happy New Year

Peace & Love,
Let's make 2021 a year where we all ace it!

CREATING TO CREATE

This is a strange time for us all, however, occupying your mind is key to get us all ploughing through this monotonous regime we all find ourselves in. Jokes aside this is a little like my normal situation while trying to get myself recognised about what I do and show- casing brands and businesses what I can create. Creating something from nothing is a task and mindset I'm getting more and more accustomed to.

I've been doing it for months, its the case of thinking of idea's out of nowhere and trying to inspire myself to coming up with sketches and plans, then put them into action and start to film. A recent challenge I set myself was to create a series of short Instagram story films for the jewellery company - The Great Frog. I always pick a brand I'd love to work with, then head across to my sketch book, draw my ideas on paper rather than just imagine them in my head, sketching always helps me get my thoughts down on paper and implement the sketches and ideas into real life.

I want to be a videographer, that's what I want to do, but just endlessly messaging brands over email and getting nothing back is so depressing, getting knocked back again and again is pretty soul destroying. You've got to make yourself stand out from the crowd, you've got to be different, that's why I always make tailored video to go alongside my opening email. The most important thing is you've still got to believe, you still have to fucking stand by your talent, your work, as its easy to doubt yourself and your work after months of not being able to get work.

The longer it takes the more you doubt yourself, sell yourself cheap, don't ask for what you deserve. I often have these thoughts and always makes you doubt you're doing the right thing or following the right path. You've got to remain confident, confidence is key, you've got to remain positive! I know my videos are fucking cool, individual and I know a brand would be lucky to have me on board. To be honest the big brands I've approached have always messaged me back, I've had a reply from The Great Frog after sending the brand these tailored video's, which I'm super thankful for! I've also been lucky to hear back from brands such as Belstaff, my videos have also got me physical meeting's which is also great, I really appreciate them getting back to me with their positive comments however, at the moment, there always seems to be a 'but'.

That 'but' for the meantime doesn't bother me, that much, I've taken this time to work on myself, my positivity, my talent I fully believe on day will land me that dream job, doing exactly what I want to do, I know that day is coming. Now is the perfect time to focus on yourself, polish your skills, make connections but most importantly plan, sketch, keep busy and create!

Cheers for reading,
Stay safe & stay at home,

THE KEITH SHIRT

This is the third and penultimate piece I have for all you vintage lovers out there (for the time being anyway)! Hopefully, they'll be a few more pieces down the line, that's if you guys want more? You may recognise this little 70's style shirt as it's featured across on my blog before. I picked this up in Manchester's Northern Quarter a few years back from one of the independent vintage traders on Oldham Street.

Sadly, it's now time to give this shirt another life with someone new, it's just getting too small for me! I still love it as much as the day I found it, but if it's just sitting in my wardrobe not getting worn, it may as well go, that's my new rule and this year I'm sticking to it!

The specifics -

£25

The shirt is a 38 short, I take a size small but since this shirt is from America, it's even smaller than that, I'd say it was a U.K XS. The shirt has some killer vintage personality with its over exaggerated collar line and unusual waist tie. That's why I was attracted to this shirt, because I'd seen Keith wearing pretty much the exact same style! The cuffs of the shirt are also meant to be wide left open, as each cuff has only two buttons placed very high on each sleeve. The shirts black and white heavily patterned design oozes that super cool, rock and roll vibe which I (obviously) absolutely love. The measurements are as follows - Chest - 38 short, Length - 24, Sleeve length - 23, Under Arm - 17 (all measured in inch's).

T&C'S -

Postage to the U.K will be free (message for international) If you want this item or have any further questions, please give me a message/DM. The buyer will be selected on a first come first buy bases.

The item has been selected and styled by myself, the item is checked thoroughly before sale and is in excellent condition. Payment will be taken over Paypal and shipped Royal Mail Tracked & signed once payment has been received. No refunds or exchanges or sexual favours.

PALM TREE'S IN WINTER

It maybe winter but there's always room for a palm print in my wardrobe. This however, is a little twist on a print with this pattern actually being woven into the shirts motif. This shirt is a sort of a mustard/green colour which I think I'm actually going to dye black, (that's if the material will let me). I really think this shirt oozes cool, no matter what colour it maybe at the moment, I've seen past it and hopefully will change it into something even better.

The colour not being top of my list, I also has to see past the horrendous shots of the shirt across on the website, I really feel like the way they've decided to style this shirt let it down a lot, so hopefully my photographs will do the shirt a little more justice and show you guys it's actually is pretty cool style, plus looks sweet dressed into an outfit.

It has a dark brown/black small button which fastens the shirt, but I think in the summer this is going to look awesome and I haven't even told you guys the best bit yet. This shirt is £12, I set myself a strict budget for Black Friday and well basically twelve pounds was pretty much my max, ha! What a sad state of affairs that is, however, even for that tiny budget I seem to have got something which looks awesome underneath my fitted blazer!

I found this shirt across on Topman's website marked down from £35, Bargain! Sadly I couldn't even justify the £4 for delivery and actually picked the shirt up from my closest store, desperate times call for desperate measures! The shirt still should be available now, if you want to check it out, I've left a link below.

You can check the shirt out here: Topman Palm Shirt

This shirt as well as a small catch up, features across on my YouTube channel now. As I've mentioned across on YouTube this is probably going to be my last post Pre-Christmas and maybe this year! (Lets see how things go), but I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you all for checking in, reading my posts and following my blog, it means a lot.

Wishing you guys an awesome Christmas & Happy New Year x

Cheers,
