CHECK MATE

Hey guys Happy New Year & welcome back to my blog! 2020 has started with a bang and this is my first post of the new year as well as the decade! You might have followed my blog for a while now or this might be the very first time you've checked it out! 2020 is my third year of having my blog and I'm super excited to see what comes my way and everything I'm going to discover this year!
Hopefully they'll be more killer posts plus a lot more tips on what you all wanna find out! I'll kick things off by showing you all, one of my Christmas presents, this very sexy grey and black check coat.

I've been wanting a dark check coat for a very long time, since spotting one in All Saints years ago, the biggest mistake then was, I didn't get it at the time! Classic case of buyers regret! Ever since then I've been longing for a coat like it. A long flowing length of material with a simple check pattern with a fitted & tailored style.

I was in T.K.Maxx of all place's when the sleeve of this coat jumped out at me, grabbing my attention from the overflowing rail of jackets and coats. I'd only gone into T.K.Maxx to kill time as that day I'd walked into town and forgotten my wallet, classic! I gave it a try on in the fitting room then decided a walk back to the flat for my wallet was now called for, I wasn't going to let a coat like this slip through my fingers for the second time.

I collected the jacket and finally paid, it was the coat I'd been looking for since my All Saints days. My parents kindly offered to  buy me the coat for one of my Christmas presents - Legends! Sadly this meant one thing, it got put away till the big day.

It's pretty much not been off my back since Boxing Day so I thought why not feature it across on my blog. I also got this amazing grey cashmere scarf from Marks & Sparks which even though I'm not over 70, adds a cool little detail to the outfit and makes the coat look even better with a complementing block grey colour.

This coat is a piece I've been desperately needing, something to make me feel smart when wearing, and a coat I can throw on and rock with any outfit. I think it looks the part and makes for a very timeless look. I was super lucky with the photographs, heading to this wall at the perfect time during the day, catching the long shadows just before the sun disappeared entirely. The coat only cost £59 but styled up with accessories and a crisp white shirt I think it looks a lot more expensive than it actually was.

I've actually found this coat across on Asos too, it's a little bit more than I paid, but still a steal for the price. Here's the link to check the coat out on Asos, sadly they only have it in large, but I imagine if it's on there, it might be also found elsewhere with a little more digging online.

Thanks for reading,

VINTAGE 70'S LEATHER FIND

Hey guys, I'm back with another new one and this week I'm talking about a vintage leather I picked up from Liverpool. I love vintage shopping, it's something I do often. You go out not expecting anything, then you stumble upon a retro gem you couldn't live without, and that's exactly what happened to me a few weeks ago.

I found this amazing maroon leather jacket in COW Liverpool, a vintage shop right in the middle of bustling Bold Street. I like to look through both the men and women sides of the shop, so as I was following CJ through the endless rails of vintage clothing I spotted this 70's gem. It fit like a glove, not normally the case when buying second-hand as its usually not so tailored, but this was a very rare exception. There's nothing worse than finding the best things, trying them on and it all just fitting terribly. Fortunately with this jacket, it was definitely meant to be and I knew I had to buy it there and then!

I love the cut and panelling of the jacket, it has that cowboy-esque look, the sharp angles and curves of the leather sections are very western, I bloody love it. The colour is also something I fell for, injecting a vintage palette into my wardrobe is exactly what I needed. Don't get me wrong, I like my black leathers but sometimes you just want a change, especially as Autumn is fast approaching.

I wanted to reflect where the piece had originally started its life, so I chose to go very retro with this look. I decided on wearing my darted collar shirt over the leather which looks like its straight out of a 1970's Carnaby Street. Of course, not forgetting an iconic piece from that era, a pair of flares (which are actually CJ's) to capture the look.

This is also the first time I've worn my scarf from Good Morning Keith - which up to this point I haven't found an outfit it's worked with enough until this one. I think the colours really complement one another and it's the perfect finishing touch to my 70's inspired outfit. I added my vintage inspired belt from Savage and took my white Cuban's for a walk to top the outfit off.

This weeks new YouTube is all about my vintage leather where you get to check it out in a little more detail. Plus you can also catch up with yours truly for a chat, if you're not subscribed to my channel, click the red button. I'm getting closer to the big thousand subscribers.
