THE UNIDENTIFIED ROCKER JACKET

It's been a few weeks since I featured this jacket across on my YouTube, and even further back since I painted it. This was pretty much my first little project of lockdown. I posted a photograph of this leather once I'd finished the lettering on my instagram but since then, I still haven't gotten around to actually wearing it, that's until now.

I've not worn this particular biker for a good ol' while, if I'm telling you the truth, I've sort of gone off it. Hence the makeover, if you don't like something, improve it until you do, that's my new motto, so with my newly painted white lettering, it felt good to finally throw this biker back over my shoulders, especially knowing my name was on the back!

I sketched out the font design in a white pencil first, so I knew exactly where each letter would sit on the back of my leather, there's nothing worse than getting to the end, then realising you've ran out of space, so a little pre-planning is crucial! It took me three coats of special leather paint (which I got from eBay) to make the white pop on the smooth black leather. If you can remember way back, I was undecided whether or not to include a hat to the design on the back of my leather, but after my instagram poll I decided to loose the hat design underneath the lettering to go for more of a "less is more" look.

I love the way the biker has turned out and I can't wait to wear it again and again. Nothing beats a jet black leather biker and now since I've personalised this one, I love it a whole lot more! I'm pretty proud of myself that I've kept up my creativity in lockdown, somedays it hard, but constantly thinking of new ideas and new films and projects is getting me through each day, if it wasn't for my creativity I'd be in a bad place for sure!

I hope you're all still doing well and keeping your minds busy and positive. As always thanks for checking in.

GOOD MORNING KEITH - DYLAN POLKA DOT SHIRT

Evening guys, how are you all? Tonight I'm back talking about one of my favourite smaller brands - Good Morning Keith. You may remember seeing some of their pieces I've been lucky enough to have been given over the years, including t-shirts, bandanna's and a handful of detail scarfs, which I have absolutely adore and have all been amazing, oozing that 70's style! This is the first shirt I've been given from the G.M.K and I can tell you it feels as looks as good as everything else they create!

I just love the over size polka-dot motif of the Dylan shirt, it's a killer twist on the standard smaller dots your normally would find with the pattern. I think the shirt looks undeniably & effortlessly cool, I love the cut and feel of the shirt not to mention that slightly over exaggerated collar, a nod to the seventies era and styling.

A lot of Good Morning Keith's materials are recycled and are sourced from big Parisian fashion houses. This material is dead stock which means that it's either unwanted or would go unused. This is until G.M.K step in and save the material to create amazing garments from this high standard textile.

I also styled the shirt with a vintage leather I found recently, I think these two items really complement one another, both looking as if they've come straight out the seventies themselves! If you head across to my instagram -@theunidentifiedrocker you'll be able to watch a small video I also filmed while shooting, which also captured a sweet vibe!

You can check out my other posts about G.M.K here - The Love T-Shirt, plus an introduction to Good Morning Keith where you can find out a little more about the brand, visit their website here - Good Morning Keith. Check out this weeks YouTube where I chat a little more about the brand and give you a closer look at the sexy Dylan Shirt.

Cheers,

PALM TREE'S & SUNSHINE

Palm tree's and sunshine meant a totally different thing this time last year, now however, it sadly means me in my own back garden. I chose to shoot this latest blog post against this very cliché setup, I mean, I never thought it would come to a white sheet, but finally its happened. My apologies. Lockdown has reached a new low, but let's get on with it!

I bought this shirt last year and to be fair haven't worn it that much, maybe a handful of times. It went down to such a low price in the sale on Topman's website it was worth buying no matter what it looked like when it came! When it arrived, I loved it, last week I found it in the back of my wardrobe and thought why not throw it on, after all the weather last week certainly called for a summer shirt. I remember telling everyone last year it was the perfect holiday shirt, I did think I'd be wearing it in a slightly more exotic location, but hopefully they'll be plenty of time for that soon!

A part of me actually enjoyed shooting against the sheet, as I got some amazing shadows projected onto the background, especially as this shirt is sheer in certain area's, the patterns looked perfect. You wouldn't necessarily think this shirt was from Topman, but that's why I bought it, I love checking in with the high-street every now and again to find pieces that look a lot more expensive than they actually are, plus I get the challenge of styling them up in a way to reflect this more exclusive item. This shirt is such a cool, unique piece, I'm not normally a fan of the sheer look or lace detailing but since this shirt is a twist on the original, I think it looks killer styled up in this laid back rock n' roll way!

Worn completely open around a pool area or fastening a few buttons for an early evening look this shirt will look killer when we all eventually get the luxury of travelling once again, that can't come quick enough for me! I hope you're all still enjoying your summer wherever you currently are and whoever your currently with.
