RED SUEDE BY JOE BROWN'S

Hello and welcome back, you missed me much? It's been a while since I checked in with you all. I seem to have put the blog on the back burner the last few months but you know what they say, absence makes the heart grow fonder and all that! Anyway, I'm back, I'm good and I've got this this epic red, suede trucker jacket to show you all.

This is the 'Good Times' jacket from Joe Browns and what a banger it is. It's gone straight in there as one of my favourite jackets in my wardrobe and definitely one of the heaviest! The suede is like nothing I've felt before, the thickness, the weight, the style, I love it! Everything from its big, rounded chunky buttons to that rich smell of that beautiful burnt red leather suede, oh baby!

I styled this trucker jacket up in my classic - what would a seventies cowboy wear? Red neck tie check, the signature hat, check, blue denim flares, that's what I'm talking about, we're looking good! I am experimenting with a lot more colour these days, I mean a blue flared jean a few years ago was an instant no, but now, blue denim, green velvet and my most recent orange flares are a go, go, go!

You can view the jacket here across on Joe Browns website, you may notice the all round legend Bill Huxly sporting the 'Good Times' jacket online, that's what persuaded me to go for the piece so I hope I've done the big man justice.

You can also check out my YouTube channel where we have an epic closer look at the jacket from JB plus an all round catch up as well as looking back at a handful of my favourite films I've created over the past few months.

As always cheers for reading,

TENS & VINTAGE SPECS

Evening guys, tonight, I want to start off with some new killer shades! I've been lucky enough to find a handful of super cool sunglasses over the past few months plus a brand that have kindly just gifted me a pair of their epic tinted glasses! It's being a while since I've sat down and posted something across on my blog so I thought I'd put together something small and I'd show you some of my sexy new additions to the eye wear drawer.

I love a pair of sunglasses, I mean when do they not come in handy? Either to hide a raging hangover or to remain, well . . unidentified. The bigger the better in my book and if they cover pretty much all my face, I've found a pair for me! I've built up quite the collection over the years, some designer, some cheap but all fucking oozing that rock n' roll chic! I'll start with my most recent pair I was kindly gifted by a Scottish brand - Tens which I'm wearing in these shots.

First off let's chat about the look of the website as well as their range of sunglasses - its a must see, after reading this of course! All the visuals as well as the films showcasing their ranges of super cool shades are perfectly shot. I'm not normally one to comment on films as I always think I can do way better (yeah, my head really is that big) but when it comes to what Tens have created, I can well and truly say they've really smashed it out the park, what a vibe!

I guess that's the visuals you get when the brand is owned and ran by two photographers. However, I've not even got to the best part of the brand - whatever sexy frame you decide on, you then have the option to choose the colour of the lenses which you can choose from a huge range of filters & tints, anything from a desert orange sun to a deep forrest green, it's really like walking around with an instagram preset! I rooted for the Tropic High Sunnies which have the most amazing tint I've ever experienced in glasses and look down right cool!

Next up, I have two other pairs which you can take a look at across on my YouTube. I recently picked them up in Edinburgh, these guys just show that you can still pick up a pair of super cool shades for a small budget. I spent six pounds each on these sunglasses and I think they're worth every penny! I found both pairs on the same day, from two different Armstrongs stores in the city. Armstrongs, if you don't already know are a series of vintage stores scattered through the city and well worth heading to if you're ever in Edinburgh.

The first pair I came across were these jet black wide lens shades, which give you all the anonymity you need by basically covering half your face - just the way I like it! The others I found are the exact same shape (how lucky is that) but these particular sunglasses are in a tortoise shell. I'm all about the tan, brown, earthy tones right now. The perfect addition to accessorise that outfit!

Check both my vintage pairs out below on my YouTube channel -

Cheers for reading,
Enjoy the sunshine!

John Varvatos

Evening guys, I'm just going to jump straight into tonight's post and what an epic one I have lined up for you! It was an absolute pleasure partnering with John Varvatos last month, thinking, creating & executing a plan to shoot for the brand. This is one of the coolest opportunities I have had so far working for a huge name in the industry. John Varvatos is damn cool American designer who produces some of the best clothing I have ever seen, not to mention have had the pleasure to wear! If someone told me three years ago I'd be collaborating with a brand straight out the rock n' roll royalty list, I'd of hardly believed you!

I not only created a campaign style shoot for myself, but also a film of one of my friends. You may have seen my mate Andrew modelling in the shoot last month and yeah, he fucking smashed it! Andrew brought the exact vibe I wanted to the table when it came to shooting J.V his chiselled features, strong look and undeniable confidence being on camera, it was the perfect storm to create the film I wanted. (If you didn't see the film I posted a few weeks back on instagram, you can catch it at the bottom of this post).

It's funny as myself and Andrew shot the exact same outfit. I shot Andrew first, then, a week later, I took my turn in front of the camera. Wearing the same look, styling it our own individual ways, we both  channelled different energies to the shoot and both brought something entirely different to the party. Plus I had my sofa as a prop! Don't even ask me how I got it down there!

I don't think it was a question of who wore it better, it just shows you even with the same clothing, individuality and style always shines through!

Obviously I had to have a killer backing track to play along with both films, taking inspiration from John Varvatos' instagram who feature Jimi Hendrix - Star Spangled Banner. I decided this fit best, obviously I couldn't get Jimi but I managed to get the next best thing - That's the man, the legend Harry Arnold on guitar, I know you'll agree when I say he took that song to the next level, his playing is off the chart!

You can shop the looks online at John Varvatos, I'll give you a closer look and chat more about the clothing across on my YouTube soon. I know it's been a while, I haven't uploaded a video in MONTHS but now I think it's about time for a big return, just give me a few days to film it!
