MOUNIR GHAZI - MAGIC IN PARIS

Evening guys, tonight I'm throwing it back to the summer and talking about Mounir Ghazi - The man, not the brand. I want to share Mounir's film which hopefully by now, most of you have seen already across on my IG as well as give you a little insight of how the film came about here on my blog.

Mounir asked me to film across in Paris earlier this year and it's ONLY now I can talk about it and show you guys what we created together. The brief was to come up with an ultra premium film covering a little more about Mounir himself. From his passions, his background and his roots to what his life looks like now, living in the capital of France. He also wanted to show his journey of becoming a fashion designer, soaking up everything from personal inspiration, his taste in music and of course the design process of crafting one of his stunning leathers.

I remember heading to Mounir's pad for the first time after meeting him just off the Champs-Élysees, walking to his killer studio which was a short distance from the bustling street, past a few fancy wine bars and restaurants, through a large, green, locked double door. A tight Parisian wooden staircase leads off a huge cobbled courtyard up to his apartment, which opened out to an airy, bright, living room with the most amazing marble fire surround slap bang in the middle. This was where the shoot was to take place.

After unpacking my things and heading out to explore the city and obviously experiencing as much of the French cuisine as possible . . .  the bread, cheese and the odd glass of red, we headed back to talk - the plan. We sat and chilled, kicking back after a busy day exploring Paris and brainstormed out loud. Jotting idea's down franticly on a scrap of paper, coming up with a storyline and shots we needed to achieve that evening in his studio and workroom for his creations.

The past shoots Mounir and myself have created have been very late nights indeed. A few years back in London, after a wild penthouse party at a hotel in Marylebone, we decided to create this crazy film using the down right cool aesthetic surroundings of the hotel we'd been invited to and then subsidently crashed at after. I remember leaving the party of passed out people upstairs, having a coffee and shooting in this deserted hotel lobby bar at like 4AM in the morning, it was epic! Myself fully dressed in leather - the coolest trousers and biker, taking shots in the corridors and then heading out onto the streets of London until the sun came up.

The Paris shoot timing was no different, we just work better in the dark. I had to include this shot (from said London shoot) which Mounir now has blown up and framed on his wall!

Then the night itself came around, we'd gone for a bite to eat at a near by restaurant, headed back for 11PM and we started to roll. Mounir put The Stones back catalogue of songs on from when they lived in Marrakesh and also started to prepare me, the finest Moroccan tea I've ever tasted, the freshness of the mint, the sweetness of the sugar, and the depth of the tea, strained and stirred, not to mention poured to perfection. We were getting in the zone man!

Now off and running, we had the candles lit we'd bought earlier on in the day, the red roses we also picked up earlier were a main feature on the fireplace, the studio was looking amazing. I'd also brought my smoke machine, which always adds such a mysterious air to things whilst shooting, not to mention making everything look cool as fuck - I knew that pairing this with my strobe was going to give us some cool effects indeed! By this time the Moroccan tea was brewed and the Stones were supplying us with the best soundtrack, all inspiring us creatively to get into the groove. Mannequins shadows danced on the walls, smoke hung in the air, guitars were being passed and played room to room, amps lay on the sofa's, Mounir's leathers now scattered the studio and I knew at this moment, the film was going to be exactly what we'd set out to create. Legendary.

We didn't wrap the shoot until 5:30 in the morning but we both knew one thing, when we said goodnight, magic was made. I flew back a few days later and edited it all up. The final stumbling block a few weeks in was capturing everything in a such a short sequence. I had disregarded the bits I didn't want, but the problem now was - I had too much good footage! I was stuck and the only thing I knew that would get me back into the right frame of mind was where the pure essence of the films personality originated - to somehow find Moroccan tea in Scotland. After a little googling I headed into town, collected all the ingredients, arrived back to the flat and poured myself a few cups, lashed it all out in an seven hour edit of craziness, into the early hours of the morning, the perfect accompaniment to finalising the film. September rolled around and Mounir had the film in his inbox. That's the way I roll, done.

TIGHA 21

Hey guys, I can't believe we've got just over a week till Christmas! That's pretty mad isn't it, considering we all seem to have gone from March 329th to now, without really anything exciting in-between. My last post was my birthday post, that's not really hit me until now, I really have let my blog slide over the last few months haven't I! That can be my first in my long list of New Years resolutions, get back to being consistent, but like everyone, I've found it pretty hard to talk about any topics, new purchases or in-fact anything remotely exciting or interesting has sadly been few and far between. Cheers Lockdown!

Luckily tonight I do have something to share with you all - here's three looks from Tigha's new SS21 campaign, finally something new hits the blog! So we'll kick it off with my favourite item from the new collection the Nevan Leather Biker. It's made from sheep leather and comes in an awesome dusty black. It has some killer shoulder epaulettes as well as lots of detail on the jacket, for instance those killer leather elbow patches, which I absolutely adore! The styling of this biker is perfect, it looks aged, it looks worn, it looks like it's been around a while, it's all about the details, the pockets, zippers, ties and metal studding, plus the chunky belt. This biker certainly has a personality of its own, I love everything about it!

The second look I want to chat about is this sweet shirt, so good I had to have it in both colour options, the Black and Vintage Grey. The Senyo shirt is effortless, you can throw it over a tee or wear it underneath your biker, its going to look equally cool in any situation. The metal branded studded buttons are heavy and cold to the touch, always a good sign in my book as this always means quality, like all Tigha's clothing, the quality shines through. I teamed this look with the black Pablo Chelsea Boots and a simple long sleeved tee also from Tigha makes for a killer laid back outfit.

Look me in BLUE jeans, well, why the hell not, I mean you've got to mix things up a little especially when stuck in Tier three, cheers Boris, I mean there's not much excitement coming from anywhere else, hence the colour change. I do think the colour of these blue jeans are perfect though, very light, the washed out denim looks super cool, I know they'll look perfect next spring summer, plus it will be a total change to my normal go-to black especially when the weather gets a little warmer. It's a long while off, but we can all dream right?!

My final outfit choice I want to bring your attention to is this super cosy, warm, thick jumper, yeah, you can tell I like it right? This jumper is probably the most substantial piece in my wardrobe, I've been wearing it a lot recently especially with the weather being colder, there's no better feeling than been wrapped in this jumper, kicking back and relaxing. I'm not normally a huge fan of knitwear but this alpaca/wool mix is well worth it. If you guys want to see a little more of the outfits you can check my instagram @theunidentifiedrocker where you can catch my latest video of all the outfits styled up.

You can find all my looks across on Tigha's website, by clicking here to shop. As always stay safe, and if I don't get to check back in with you before Christmas, I hope you all have an amazing time, drink, eat and be merry with the one's you love!

TIGHA SHOOT

Evening guys, hope you're all good! Tonight, I have a killer brand I want to share with you all, I've partnered up with Tigha to give you a little insight into the style and outfits you can find across on their website. I'll be showing you three new outfits from their SS20 range in this post, for you all to get a feel of their aesthetic and what the German brand Tigha is all about. I've known of the brand for around a year now but this is the first time I've been lucky enough to see their pieces up close and personal and to actually wear their garments.

The first item I chose was this awesome Nikias suede jacket, which I teamed with their Robin Stone Wash skinny jeans, finally I have another brand of skinnies I've fallen in love with. These jeans are perfect, they have just the right amount go stretch and form to the leg giving an awesome silhouette, like any good skinny black jean should! It's so hard finding a good skinny jean but I can safely say these are as good as any I have in my wardrobe!

I wore one of their super comfortable Milo tee's which come in a range of colours underneath the jacket and I'm carrying their black suede and leather Joshua weekend bag. Tigha have a killer range of pieces for the summer season which range from leather and suede, to patterned flannel shirting, denim and even a little tye-dye thrown in there for good measure! I can tell you now the collection is pretty sick and there is certainly something for everyone!

The second outfit is a little more summery, as I chose one of their short sleeve shirts. This is the Sveni SS shirt, it's super easy to wear and can be easily styled up to suit anyone, I wore it pretty open as per and tucked out for a more casual look. The wave print shirt comes in blue and orange with the Billy The Kid Destroyed Slim Fit Jeans which again, are a real good fit and when paired together make for a pretty sick outfit!

Postage was super quick even in the current climate, I was super impressed with how fast my delivery arrived, especially as the brand is based in Germany.

The final look is the Sami Leather jacket, which I chose in military green but also comes in a black. I wore the same tee and jeans with this look as I did in my first. I love the attention to detail in all of their pieces, the small metal logo tags which are attached to the denim and branded buttons on their collections. You can tell straight away that time and care has been taken in designing and manufacturing of all their clothing.
