THE RUFFLE SHIRT

As promised we have quite an unusual shirt to take a look at this evening, I agree, it's very out there, very feminine and to be honest, I haven't quite made my mind up just yet. However, since it was only £25 it was well worth the gamble, right? I wore this in a video I posted on Instagram a few days back and everyone seemed to like it then, so I'll take that as a good sign from you all that I can sort of pull it off!

This is the first piece of clothing I've bought for myself in months, I feel like I've forgotten how to shop, it's been that long! I bought this shirt in a small and it fits great, the light sheer fabric isn't for all but, as you have probably figured out by now, I'm pretty comfortable wearing my shirts so far buttoned down, its like I'm not wearing one at all. However this particular shirt when buttoned up or down will reveal to everyone your wonderful nipples! That in mind, if freeing the nipple isn't your thing, this shirt probably isn't the one for you.

I wanted this look to look a little more western, as per, rather than your modern Gucci inspired look, as I said, this shirt is feminine, so the tucked in move was done tactically to butch this shirt up a little, make it look a little more boxy. I think my jewellery plays a strong part in this look as it adds character, I don't think this shirt would sit as well if it didn't have bold accessories to complete the outfit. I fear if this shirt was just paired with a pair of jeans on a clean cut guy, it would look a little too floaty and female.

A few years ago I don't think I would have ever worn a shirt like this, I don't normally follow trends but I do surprisingly like this shirt the more I look at it. It fits my seventies aesthetic, it verges into the western look which I also adore, plus its got that difference, that edge, that twist on your classic original shirt and that's what interests me.

Tell me what you guys think of the shirt, I'd love to know your thoughts is it a thumbs up or a thumbs down to a ruffle bib?

Check the shirt out across on Asos here

Cheers for reading,
