A CLASSIC

A Biker Jacket has always been an item I hold close to my heart and if you're taking the time to read this particular post of mine, then it's probably a piece close to your's too.  I always get a lot of questions about my jackets, especially ones relating to this particular style. Because of this, I've tried answering all in this blog post and even more in depth across on this weeks YouTube.

The all black outfit with classic smooth, shiny leather biker is one of my favourite looks of all time, not to mention one of the coolest. Owning a classic styled black biker jacket is a key part to my wardrobe and style, it's probably the outfit you see me in most.

This signature look of mine (in my opinion) is the ultimate 'cool' outfit, it's effortless, timeless and if done well looks a million dollars. I've had this [The Kooples] biker for a few years now and every time I throw it on I feel that sense of rebellion and attitude that every great biker should give you. I've got a lot of jackets in my wardrobe, but after nabbing this one a few years back in the sale it went straight to being my number 1.

My standout outfit isn't complete without a trusty fedora hat, this is another accessory you'll probably not see me without. This hat has been with me for years and paired with this look gives me my own strong personal style. This hat has been everywhere with me over the past few years, and is what I've been recognised for - its even what I based my blog logo around!

It's a killer piece, I really wouldn't know what I'd do without it! It adds that little extra magic and personality to every outfit I wear it with, it's a conversation piece and a bad hair day cover-up! I actually found this hat over on eBay after years of searching for the perfect one. I've got a handful of beautiful hats in my collection, but this is the one I wear pretty much everyday. Hat brands to look out for include Akubra, Driza-Bone and Why Eye Hats.

Getting onto jewellery, another part of my look that I feel is as integral as wearing my hat! It's aways about accessorising your outfit and making it the most personal statement you can. If I didn't wear my jewellery, I'd feel naked without it! Jewellery is all about that story, telling someone a memory or remembering a person/place that close to your heart. Each piece is very personal to me, either I've bought myself or have been lucky to have been given by a family member or close friend, my collection has taken me over five years to create and I'm still not done. One thing to bear in mind is a personal jewellery collection isn't achieved over night!

All best pieces of jewellery tell a story and I feel like it's such a strong part of my day to day look. I wore a black crew neck tee to make the jewellery stand out even more than it usually does to show you how much of an impact it has in an outfit like this. A lot of my pieces are one off or vintage, they may of even been passed down to me from family. But, my favourite brand for necklaces, rings and the like is Tant D'avenir Paris which is owned by a friend of mine and all round legend - Quentin. If you like my jewellery I couldn't recommend his pieces enough!

The other accessory I chose to add to this look was a bandanna, this threaded through a loop of my jeans gives a classic rocker vibe. Bandanna's are such a versatile accessory which make them the perfect add on or styling item, this one I also picked up from The Kooples. It's monotone colour and short length makes it ideal to tie around your jeans in the way I have, or worn in the traditional style of around the neck.

Wearing a combination or all of these key pieces I've mentioned above in your own individual way, reflecting who you are as a person through your outfits is always the best way to go. After all, the best looks always tell people you come by in life everything about you, without having to say a word yourself.

WELCOME TO FLAT NUMBER THREE

Hey everyone, tonight I'm opening the door and letting you all step inside my new flat, which I now share with my girlfriend CJ. This was a big step for me, but after our first month of living together I can report we're still going strong...

After moving all of our stuff in by ourselves (and nearly collapsing in the process) we now have it pretty exactly how we want it. The bedroom is a write off at the minute, having focused mainly on the living area for now, but I'm sure it won't be long before we get that room looking just as good (fingers crossed).

I love this flat more than any other since moving down to Manchester, I think that's down to us really putting our own stamp on things. As soon as we viewed it, we knew this little flat was something special and we had to have it.

Saying that, this was the only flat we looked at online and the only one we viewed together in person, so it had to do really. I remember the conversation Chloe had with me two weeks before I had to leave my old flat with the deadline looming - "Christian I've found a flat" Me - "Awesome we'll have that one".

Finding a flat is easy. I stand by my late snap decisions, they always work out for me. I always think they're the way to go, just let the path take you, it's all going to happen anyway so why not just go with it and enjoy the ride!

I am the most laid back person with pretty much everything in my life, and I fully believe everything is set out in front of us, the path we are all on now is the path we are meant to be on, to put it simply - what's going to happen is going to happen. Don't get me wrong I like to plan, layout idea's and list, but I firmly believe in the law of attraction and I like to think something will happen if I manifest it in my mind. I find the best way to deal with high pressure situations is step back, relax and just go with the flow because everything will be good in the end.

My favourite part of the day in the flat is just around dusk. We're lucky as we get the last bit of the light before it sets on the Manchester skyline. Being on the corner of the building makes that hour of daylight an utter dream. We unhinge the large windows to let the cool evening air into the flat, open a bottle of red (most night's, why hello there) and light our candles whilst listening to an album to create that chilled out atmosphere after a day at work.

I find this flat the ultimate place to unwind and chill, we've just made it into one of those spaces where you can really shake the day off. We have a lot of plants in the flat, every time we head out we're always on the look out for our next green legend. I've done a lot of decorating with plant hangers and trailing ivy, I think it looks cool and I just want to fill the flat up with that much needed greenery in our city centre pad.

Rugs also seem to be a running feature throughout our flat with three here in the front room. The carpet beneath the rugs is a sight for sore eyes, so we've collaborated our rug collection and slowly beginning to hide any evidence of the grey, old fashioned carpet. The kitchen has original wooden flooring, so it's a huge shame it doesn't follow through to the living area. The hidden gem however is our "upstairs" it's not an actual floor (we're not that well-off), but this small space above the main room and in-between it's structural mental beams makes it the perfect place to hide away. It's full of cushions and blankets, it even has another record player and TV set up there for nights we want to be really cosy, or when we have guests to stay.

Take a look at my guided tour of our flat across on my YouTube tonight plus see the little video which we filmed last night when we got in after a few beers, I'm sure you'll all be able to tell!

THE ONLY BLACK SKINNY JEANS FOR ME

We all have at least one really good pair of jeans we all rely on to be that go-to denim that always looks cool and does the job. I posted about my favourite pair of jeans a few weeks ago on my Instagram stories but I've decided to write a little about them tonight too. The jeans I'm about to share with you all are simply the best pair of jeans I've ever bought, so much, I now own four pairs of the black skinny beauties!

I've bought jeans from All Saints, The Kooples and other high-end stores but none measure up to these guys. It's strange, as these jeans are also the cheapest I've ever bought, nabbing them in the sale for only £19! When you measure them up against The Kooples costing nearly 10X as much and All Saints coming in at a smooth £100. These jeans were the bargain of the year!

My All Saints jeans lost their colour and turned from jet black to   black/grey which is never good and my Kooples jeans physically disintegrated, meaning last year I was on the hunt for some replacements! Other jeans I've purchased in the past just haven't been up to it, all sharing my worst pet peeve in denim - COLLECTING SMALL FLECKS OF WHITE DUST! I absolutely hate when that happens, it's such a schoolboy error and will have a negative outcome to any outfit, no matter how cool you may think it is! After initially taking a chance on these Brooklyn Denim Co jeans a year ago, buying them as a sort of back up pair to my A.S skinnies they've now become my number ones.

No matter which outfit these black jeans are now my go-to in my wardrobe, they're the classic all rounder. They never fade, they're a great skinny fit and cut, they're super black and most importantly don't attract the dreaded white fluff! These jeans will look sharp at all times and never fade which in my opinion is always a winner.

Personally I think a good pair of jeans is the base to every good outfit, no matter how subtle. A pair of fitted, sharp and dark jeans will never let you down. I wear black skinny jeans most days so finding a pair that fit me and are comfortable is key. B.D.C have an elastic feel to the denim giving them the perfect shape and fit to the leg which also gives movement.

I've styled these jeans up with a sweet western belt I was given from @savage__official along with a old season Kooples blazer with the usual jewels and dangly necklaces. I love the look of a smart blazer over a casual soft cotton tee, which I'm rocking here, I actually wore this outfit on Saturday night when heading out for drinks and it felt pretty damn cool.

You'll all probably notice the location's changing over the next few weeks as this was shot at the end of my street next to my new flat in Manchester. I love the buildings around my new gaff and I'm super excited to get some killer photographs to show you all in the up and coming weeks whilst the weather (fingers crossed) stays hot. Hopefully this weekend I'll let you guys behind the door of my third flat since moving to Manchester, so stay tuned for that one and come back Sunday!

Sadly since this idea of this post has been in my head the jeans they sell via Asos have all sold out, I know, absolute classic! I'd keep on checking back on their website however, as they're sure to bring some similar or the same black jeans back, plus I'll keep you guys in the loop if I see them elsewhere!
